If I could have rated RH a zero I would have. We were told when to come to RH and so we came at that time. I brought my daughter in and she spoke to the owner, Detra, who was very kind to her and immediately said she couldn't stay because she needed to go into detox and called EMS. We were there a total of about 10-15 minutes. Detra said we could leave her suitcase there and that she would put it in the locked office where it would be safe and that someone from RH would pick her up from detox at the time of discharge. Detra also told us that she would go to the ER that evening to check on her. She never showed up. RH never called the ER to see if she was okay. RH never called the detox unit to see how she was doing or when she was to be discharged. The day my daughter was released from detox was on a Sunday. No one answers the phone on the weekend because I later found out no staff is there on the weekends so no one would have been available to pick her up. When I called my daughter at detox on Sunday they said she had been discharged, so I asked if someone from RH picked her up and the nurse said yes. So I immediately called RH but there was no answer. So Monday morning I called RH and asked how my daughter was doing. They said they didn't know where she was! My daughter called me later that Monday and said there was no one there to pick her up so she went to stay with the family of a person she met at the facility. So she ended up going back to drinking. We had left her suitcase with ALL of her belongings, clothes, new shoes, and necessities at RH as we believed she would be picked up by RH staff. I called and asked Bethany if we could hold off getting her suitcase for a while in case my daughter changed her mind and decided to go back to RH. Bethany said don't worry we will put it in a safe place and that they would hold her things for a couple of months. After a month we decided to go to RH to get her belongings. When we got there the residents told us we were to leave the property immediately and come back on Monday because there was no staff there! No staff to oversee 18 residents! So we left. About 1 1/2 blocks from RH we saw Detra and her husband, the owners, driving up towards RH. I stopped them and asked Detra, if she had a key to her office, could she get my daughter's suitcase. Her answer was "No, I'm off duty. I explained we drove 1 hr and 45 minutes to get the suitcase. But she said "Call back Monday." I couldn't believe she was just 1- 1/2 blocks from RH and yet she wouldn't get her belongings for us. So we left. When I called Monday Bethany told me that they only held belongings for 3 days. I reminded her of our phone conversation, that she said don't worry, she would put the suitcase aside for 2 months, but she denied ever saying that! The facility has 27 beds, the place is huge and certainly they could find a place for one suitcase. But no, they had given away ALL of my daughter's belongings to a thrift store! Then Bethany expressed that RH was upset that my husband has cancelled a check for $500.00 and $750.00. Since she was never admitted and they didn't do any of the things they said they would do there was no reason to pay them $500.00. I was shocked and truly saddened how a Christian organization would treat a fellow Christian. They showed zero compassion. If they treated her belongings and my daughter this way I wonder how they would have treated her if she stayed.
